First day of the year 2011. I will like to start the year with a poem I wrote this morning inspired by the poem The Red Wheelbarrow by William Carlos Williams.

2011
by Stella Villalba

So much depends upon us
the new year is here
and with that the possibilities
of roads not yet taken

So much depends upon us
the paths are open
some of us are afraid to cross it
but can't help but wonder

So much depends upon us
on the hope and faith
we have on ourselves
and our daily actions

So much depends upon us
if we only allow to
trust it wide open
can you imagine....

where would we go?
where would we be?
what will we learn?
who will we meet?

So much depends upon
you
and
me.

Happy New Years! May this be the beginning of a journey of ever changing and every growing!
Sincerely,
Stella Villalba

Stella,
New years are great for new starts. It's the best thing about being a teacher really --- two new starts (Jan/Aug). What a great poem.

So much depends on us, indeed! On every single one of us! And though it's hard, we have to trust it wide open, yes!

Great poem! Thanks for a great start to my day!
